Installing Diary/Notebook Theme

1. Go to your WP Admin panel, Appearance >Themes > Install Themes and upload diary.zip file.

2. To install the theme manually you should have already wordpress installed and running on your server. Unzip diary.zip and using FTP, upload the "diary" theme folder to your web server, and place it in "/wp-contents/themes/". So what you'll have in the end is "wp-contents/themes/diary/".

3. Now that you have the theme uploaded you just need to login to your WP admin panel and activate it "Appearance > Themes".

General Settings

Blog Title/Logo and tagline
The theme logo the site title you set in Wordpress admin , "Settings > General", tagline as well.

Site Background
You can set your custom background image in Wordpress Admin "Appearence > Background"

Add Widgets to Sidebar
You can add widgets to sidebar to display lists of categories, pages, latest tweets etc. For this you need to go to "Appearence > Widgets" and drag the wanted widget on the right side, under the "Sidebar" widgets box.

Note: Please rememeber that for "Latest Tweets" widget to work you first need to add your twitter user name on "Social Links" panel on the Custom Theme Options page.

Adding Pages Menu
To create a list with links to your defined pages you need to add the "Pages" widget to Sidebar.

Contact Page
When you create the Contact page, you will need to set the "Contact" template for it ( right side Attributes panel ), in order to have the contact page as in preview and have it Ajax functional.

Then you need to select it as the contact page on Custom Options Page, under the "Contact Page" tab, and add the email and the text you want to appear on the page. Once you have a page selected for contact, the contact icon link will appear on the sidebar, under the social icons.

This themes comes with a custom options page.

Fonts
The theme uses Google fonts for title, headings and several other elements. You can customize the appearance of these from the Fonts tab, choosing from the list of available Google Web Fonts and setting new text sizes.

Colors
You can set text and text-shadow colors for headings, links, etc. Leave the fileds blank and save to restore defaults.

Social Links

You can set your twitter and facebook details, so the Social icons links willappear on the top of the sidebar. Also, this is where you need to add your twitter user first so the Latestes Tweets widget to display your latest tweets.

Contact Page
Here you have to select the contact page you have created, the text for it and your email details, where the contact form will send the messages.

Footer
Here you have to set your site copyright info that will be displayed in the footer.

SEO Details
Here you can add your SEO elements and Analytics code.

 

PrettyPhoto Lightbox

For adding Lightbox behaviour to a link just add rel="prettyPhoto" to the image Link Rel.
